Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

What Is Hyperbaric Therapy?

Oxygen is the most important and prevalent element on earth. It is necessary for all cells to function. Without adequate oxygen reaching injured tissues, no wound can heal. By the same principal, many diseases of the body do not get better without properly oxygenated tissue. At normal atmospheric pressure (normobaric) oxygen is available at 21% of total air breathed. Hyperbaric oxygenation treatments deliver increased oxygen levels to all parts of the body, including the plasma, bone, cells and all body fluids. Hyperbaric treatment in our hyperbaric chamber is safe and inexpensive. People who have difficulty equalizing the pressure in their sinuses or ears may not be able to use the hyperbaric therapy, however, pretreatment with decongestant nasal sprays will allow even these people to undergo hyperbaric treatment.

Hyperbaric Therapy

Hyperbaric therapy is indicated for all conditions, when there is a loss of blood flow and, thus, reduced levels of oxygen for the tissues. This therapy can even salvage and restore to normal function many damaged cells and neurons. These damaged tissues and cells can be returned to normal function by restoring an adequate oxygen level. Hyperbaric therapy can also improve the function of the central nervous system, including coordination, cognitive understanding, visual and auditory problems. Problems such as wound healing, severe anemia, and radiation damaged tissues may also show an excellent response.
